We had a really good time yesterday and spend all day in the park.It takes about 3 hours to get to the Canon city from here. So we left home at about 9 30 morning, and came back at midnight.
The park is gorgeous!!! Royal Gorge Bridge is the worlds highest suspension bridge. It is located in the natural canyon in rocky mountains, and where is an Arkansas river on the bottom of the canyon. In the park where is a variety of food and entertainments together with gorgeous scenic views. So first we take a walk on the bridge - which takes about 20 minutes and them had some rides. On the other side of the bridge where is a feature where we watched 20 minutes movie about the bridge. Where is also petting zoo and old west town.
The way back was even more interesting we take a ride on the tramway, it travels 1600 Ft above the bottom of the canyon, It looks really scary from the side, but in fact not scary at all. We even had this ride couple times, because the views from the tram are really spectacular.
Where is also a ride on the 45 degree rail road - that will take you the bottom of the canyon. It takes 5.5 minutes to get to the bottom, and same to get back. The speed is 3 mph, and it was little scary, since we happened to be in the very first cabines both ways, but thanks to my husband, he hugged me tie both ways, and i was able to make it. He also managed to change my dipers when we got back :) (kidding)
So, that was really a lot of fun and if you ever get a chance to get where you will not regret it. this is wonderful place, with tons of entertainments and nice hikes around.
